What do you do when what you most need fails?

The past four months have been rather difficult having half of my indispensable equipment -the computer- giving me big time problems. Spending hours and hours on the phone with the Mac people or taking it to the store looking for the solution to stop the computer from freezing and shutting down over and over again became a daily exercise. The phrase I most often heard was ‘I have never seen anything like this…’.

Desperate, I ended buying a new Mac. I got the one recommended by the experts but it was frustrating as it was so very slow compared to the super-charged one I had.  Once more I took the old one back to the repairman hoping for a miracle -and it worked!!! So now I have a functioning computer and a huge pile of files waiting to be processed… It will take a while to get back on track. Have you had things like this happen to you?
