“Aqua” goes to The Center of Fine Art Photography…
The Center for Fine Art Photography will show “Aqua”…
Out of 1745 submissions, my artwork ‘Aqua’ was accepted at the “Water” curated exhibition at The Center for Fine Art Photography, in Fort Collins, Colorado. This is an important step up in my career as I will have the opportunity to meet curators, art consultants, and collectors. I’m ecstatic!
I started working on this subject eight years ago. I remember clearly as the first images I took were in Saint Marten, in the Caribbean, where my newly born grandson and his parents had moved to. Since then I have continued shooting water and experimenting. As with most of my work, what you see is not what is…. I love playing around to convert the image into what my mind sees. I guess my background in painting and sculpture, and growing up surrounded by the nonconformist art of Frida Kahlo, Remedios Varo, Juan Soriano, Leonora Carrington and many other free thinkers influenced me. This is the first time that this work will be exhibited.
The exhibition is on October 7th to the 29th. I’ll keep you posted.
